Amsterdam-based I/O is a team of artists interested in developing interdisciplinary projects with a focus on music. Their work brings together technology, such as live electronics and the internet, improvisation, and the interaction among different disciplines. I/O is constantly looking forward to exploring the possibilities of a dialogue with its audience, while collaborating with ensembles and individuals from various art fields.

Thanasis Deligiannis | composer/performer
Thanasis Deligiannis was born in Larisa, Greece, in 1983 and grew up in a family of traditional musicians. In his late teenage he moved to Thessaloniki to study composition and music-theatre. A few years later he moved to Amsterdam to finish his studies and to explore its contemporary music scene. Since 2011 he is working as artistic coordinator for the Atlas Academy and the Composers’ Festival Amsterdam of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2014 he founded together with a team of artists from various backgrounds the Amsterdam-based interdisciplinary platform I/O. He is collaborating with music ensembles and theatre companies in Europe and abroad, both as a composer and stage performer.
Kaja Draksler | composer/pianist
Kaja Draksler was born in Slovenia in 1987. After finishing high school she decided to move to the Netherlands to study jazz piano and classical composition. After the studies, she decided to stay in Amsterdam, where she became an active member of the improvisors scene, performing extensively all over the Europe. Besides her frequent solo concerts, she has been working regularly with Čudars-Draksler Duo, Feecho, BadBooshBand, and Draksler-Santos Silva duo. She is also one of the founding members of the interdisciplinary group I/O. She recently formed her Octet.
As a composer she has been commissioned by various international groups, ranging from vocal and chamber ensembles to big bands and orchestras.
George Dumitriu | composer/guitarist/violist/live electronics
Active as a performer and composer in the field of jazz/improvised music, the Romanian musician George Dumitriu plays guitar, viola and violin with the enrichment of live laptop electronics. Coming from a classical music background, he studied in Bucharest, Groningen, Amsterdam and New York. He performed with artists such as Peter Herbolzheimer, Benny Golson, John Ruocco, Dick Oatts, Kaja Draksler. Guest guitar teacher at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam and Prins Claus Conservatorium Groningen, he performs internationally with a variety of projects (Kaja Draksler Octet, Sanem Kalfa, Zapp4, Hidden Myth, I/O, Steven Kamperman Trio) and leading his group DUMItRIO.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
